Tacita Dean at the Tate

This was in the Turbine Hall at the Tate Modern. The film maker was playing with analogue film, experimenting with what could be done with it. The aesthetic is very different from digital film making. There are digital simulations of analogue effects – I wonder if this film could have been done on a simulation? For a good example of how digital tools can fake analogue very well, have a look at this blog: it’s entirely from Apple products.
