Weave of the Ride

On Saturday, Andy Welch launched his travel adventure book ‘Weave of the Ride’.

‘Dissatisfied with the way his life was going in his early twenties, Andy Welch, wanting to escape office life, came up with a way of breaking out and hitting a trail of adventure.’

He cycled from England to Sakartvelo with friends and had the adventure of a lifetime. It’s inspirational, and a great coming of age story.

To get to the book launch, you had to wait for the secret location to be revealed online. On the day, by clicking on the ‘Lat and Lon Map’ link, this is what you see:

A field! What?! Am I going to have to book a train to get to this place? Seems a bit last minute and Mission Impossible? Can you tell I’m only an urban adventurer?

Thankfully, Andy didn’t make it too hard for us – a 15 minute walk from Hampstead Heath tube station, armed with Dandelion and Burdock and a Hampstead iced green tea (Tesco’s now stock local produce apparently), and I found myself meeting Andy’s friends and hearing more about his adventure and experience of writing the book.

I have a rare signed copy now. Andy, I still owe you £10!
