Designs of the Year 2012: Furniture and Fashion

Here’s part 2 of the Designs of the Year at the Design Museum. These shoes are customisable – users can remove some of the circles to create unique styles.

Origami-inspired design is often cool and this is sexy too. It could only be from Japan.

The furniture in the exhibition gave a flavour of a world in fear. This one could just be seen as a modern take on a Victorian dressing case but it’s designed so that you can escape quickly if you need to.

This one is just brilliant and could make a difference around the world. This one deserves the award. It’s a shelter and a school table, and excels at being both, while being affordable. That text above speaks for itself.
